HOW TO ORDER

Rules when you order

• All orders must be placed at least 7 days in advance so we have time to bake, decorate and finish your cake beautifully.
• Rush orders (less than 7 days) are only accepted if we have capacity — please WhatsApp us first before paying.
• A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order and lock in your date. The remaining 50% is due 48 hours before collection or delivery.
• Your order is only confirmed once the deposit has cleared into our account and you have received a written confirmation from us.
• Personalised wording, colours, themes and edible toppers must be finalised in writing at least 5 days before collection. Changes after this cannot be guaranteed.
• Please send reference images clearly — cakes are hand-crafted, so results are inspired by references but will not be an identical copy.

Deposits & payments

We accept EFT and cash. Bank details will be shared on WhatsApp once your order details are confirmed. Deposits are non-refundable because ingredients and time are booked as soon as your slot is reserved. Final balance must reflect in our account 48 hours before collection or delivery, otherwise your order will not be released.

Collection & delivery

• Collection is free from our Johannesburg kitchen at a time agreed with you.
• Delivery is quoted separately based on your area and calculated per km.
• Once a cake leaves our kitchen, we are no longer responsible for damage caused by transport, weather or handling by the recipient.
• Please inspect your cake at collection or on delivery — any concerns must be raised immediately, not after the event.

Cancellations & changes

• Cancellations more than 7 days before the event: deposit is forfeited but the remaining balance is not due.
• Cancellations within 7 days of the event: full order amount is payable as ingredients have been purchased and time reserved.
• Date changes are subject to availability and must be requested in writing at least 7 days in advance.

Allergens

All our cakes are baked in a kitchen that handles wheat, eggs, dairy, nuts and soy. We cannot guarantee any cake is 100% allergen-free. Please declare allergies at the time of ordering — we will do our best to accommodate but cannot be held liable for allergic reactions.

Design & images

The Munchies reserves the right to photograph completed cakes for our portfolio and social media. If you'd prefer we don't, please let us know when ordering. Personalised wording on cakes shown on our website is for display only and is not included in the product name — you choose your own message at checkout.
